Back in the day as the old ENFIELD hull UNO /WOT /EMBASSY etc Don Shead designed the 40ft Planatec hull as her replacement, it turned out the old Alli boat was still much faster and they resumed racing with her…the Planatec UNO EMBASSY was sold to Richard Benge, renamed and raced as THUNDERBIRD…..33 YEARS later Rob Gray acquired the boat and with the help of Mike Bontoff she was sent to the States and re rigged…she raced again with no less than Mike Mantle on board…then subsequently disappeared back into storage ….another quick forward to 2019/20 and the news breaks that after lengthy discussions she is purchase by Gordon McMath and Phil Morris…we all agree that this beautiful craft will make an incredible addition to the 2021 racing fleet.
