Another sad day for the sport !

Today 24th May we have learned that the very popular Class 3 racer and subsequently a much liked scrutineer, Jack (John) Lusted passed away on the 23rd of May. Jack will be remember for his Flying Sorcerer and Jersey Cow class 3 boats and the humour he brought to the sport!
We would like to pass on our condolences to his family and especially his daughter Kim.

Further Sad News

Further sad news reaches us today (Saturday 12th May), that offshore racing has suffered another loss.

We are sad to record that ROY BUNDLE, an ever-present safety-boat owner in his RIB "Hurry On", passed away on Thursday evening (10th May), in hospital in Kings Lynn.

Roy & his wife Irene were ever present as safety cover in offshore races from the 1980’s until quite recently. Roy had also provided cover for P1 Superstock races upto last year.

C.O.P.C. sends condolences to Roy’s widow Irene, and their family in this sad loss.

Sad News

We regret to note that TOM CRUMP, who was for several years, Chair of the Motor Boat Committee at The RMYC, passed away in hospital, earlier this week.

COPC pass on condolences to all of Tom’s family at this sad time, and wish to acknowledge all the work that Tom and his family put into Powerboat Racing.

Apache / HTS - Cowes to Monte-Carlo - 2013

Following on from the news that club member Nick Wilkinson has purchased Apache/HTS from David Hagan, comes the even more exciting news that Nick has entered her in the 2013 Cowes Monte-Carlo Marathon.

Those of you who have seen the latest RACEBOAT MAGAZINE will have read the article about her history…that is now also on COPC web site as well and we would like to wish Nick every success with this venture and offer him the clubs wholehearted support.
